Finance Manager

The Role

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the organisation with a focus on efficient invoicing, timely payment collection, maintaining accurate financial records in Xero and Salesforce, and ensuring optimal management of channel cash flow and P&L. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, exceptional organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

We require a minimum commitment of 20-hours per week but hours can be flexed. There may be times and points, when more hours are required. The role can be fully remote but we do encourage one in-person day in the office a month and attending any company wide days/events.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Accounting

  • Compliance with UK GAAP
  • Monthly management accounts
  • VAT returns
  • Oversight of bookkeeping, expenses, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, billing and revenue collection
  • Monthly payroll
  • Maintain pension provider relationship

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Identifying budget and cashflow variances, causes, and solutions
  • Maintaining and monitoring financial forecasts (P&L and cashflow) and KPIs

Forecasting and Performance Management:

  • Facilitate budget process, drive accountability and visibility
  • Provide assistance with building financial models and forecasts

What we are looking for

You will have demonstrated outstanding ability in team work and understand how to set up processes to make the business run more proficiently at scale, from a finance perspective.

You will have great attention to detail and operationally you will be you will be organized, motivated, excellent at managing your own time.

Experience required

  • Qualified to minimum AAT
  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a similar finance management role, preferably at a startup within MarTech
  • Strong proficiency in financial software and tools, particularly Xero and Salesforce.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience in managing channel cash flow and P&L is highly desirable.

Digital and CRM Account Manager

The Role

As a Digital and CRM Account Manager at esbconnect, you will play a pivotal role in leading the agency’s day-to-day digital and CRM activities. This multifaceted role will require you to dedicate 50% of your time to managing a key account, specifically a prominent furniture retailer. The remaining 50% will be focused on managing other esbconnect clients who utilize data-driven email sends or are involved in first-party data builds.

For the furniture retailer, we act as their data-driven agency and we support them with all aspects of driving new sales and nurturing their current database. Working alongside our ops and technical team, you would be responsible for managing and optimizing their CRM, proposing and managing external agencies who deliver media budgets and ensuring these deliver against KPIs and finally, project managing their website revamp alongside the web agency.

Responsibilities:

Key Account Management (50% of Time):

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with the furniture retailer, understanding their unique needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the client to investigate and determine their digital marketing goals.
  • Research the best media channels to them, review potential agencies and present them to Designer Sofa and then manage the output/reporting of the chosen agencies.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies to enhance the retailer’s online presence, generate leads, and streamline marketing and sales processes.
  • Project manage the launch of the retailer’s new website, overseeing the process from design through to launch.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of digital campaigns and interpret data to drive continuous optimization.
  • Utilize esbconnect’s and the retailer’s own data to optimize media spend, CRM activities, and website performance.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on digital campaign progress to the client at the Board level.

 

Management of Other esbconnect Clients (50% of Time):

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other esbconnect clients utilizing data-driven email sends or first-party data builds.
  • Collaborate with the campaign management team to optimize email marketing campaigns and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Leverage data insights to refine targeting and messaging strategies for clients’ campaigns.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their objectives and recommend digital projects to maximize ROI.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in digital technology and marketing automation to provide proactive client recommendations.

 

Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Digital and CRM role, preferably within an agency background.
  • Proven track record in managing CRM programs, optimizing media budgets, and driving digital strategies.
  • Experience across marketing channels and skills within CRM software and Google Analytics.
  • Experience in managing external suppliers and working with approved support partners.

Account Manager

The Role

The Account Manager (reporting into the Account Director) will collaborate closely with the sales team to manage the day-today relationships of our brands, agencies and networks, helping them achieve their marketing objectives in line with our product & services. You will be the client-facing contact & the internal coordinator of campaigns, with operations, with a remit to cross-sell/upsell existing clients on new opportunities & products. There needs to be a natural commercial hunger present in your day-to-day work. Key duties including:

 

  • Manage the existing business pipeline of priority accounts, maintaining and tracking performance in the company’s CRM platform
  • Act as the primary contact to develop a strong client relationship and manage allocated client relationships with a long-term view of retention, revenue expansion and depth of contact with clients
  • Proactively find opportunities, identify client pain points, understand their products, services and business goals, addressing these with the range of products and services esbconnect offers
  • Identify and acquire commercial opportunities, from existing clients, in line with the overall commercial strategy
  • Utilize presentation and analytical skills to provide clients with updates on new business capabilities, actionable recommendations and insights on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure that client service is always best in class and address and solve any issue in an effective and timely manner to provide satisfaction
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure company’s success with:
    • Sales team to onboard new clients in a consultative and structured manner
  • Operations and delivery team to help them exceeding targets by providing meaningful information about clients’ goals, KPI’s and performance
  • Capture and translate market feedback into product requirements and collect market data and information to guide our overall strategies.
  • Contribute to a team culture focused on authenticity, transparency, client-centricity and active collaboration

 

What we are looking for

You will have demonstrated a growing ability in managing client stakeholder relationships, handling day-to-day account duties, cross and upsell opportunity creation and telling great stories with data, through data analysis and data interpretation.

You will be able to demonstrate that you can manage both internal and external stakeholders in tandem and to time and brief. You will be very organized, self-sufficient, and strong at pipeline management. You will be knowledgeable in presentation tools and techniques.

You will have a good knowledge of digital marketing technologies and an added benefit will be a focus on performance marketing and email marketing products.

Experience required

  • Minimum 2-3 years progressive experience in digital marketing client services
  • Strong client service competencies coupled with demonstrated commercial awareness
  • An understanding of client stakeholder dynamics, campaign planning and buying cycles
  • Highly organized, with ability to be agile in our fast-paced environment.
  • Good excel skills and data analysis capabilities
  • Email marketing knowledge and experience a plus
