The Role
As Account Manager (reporting to the Client Solutions Director (CSD)), you’ll play a critical role in managing key accounts at esbconnect, spanning the full spectrum of acquisition and retention products and services. Key duties include:

  • Serving as the main point of contact for your clients, building strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Maintaining these relationships through frequent contact, client service and responsiveness
  • Working closely with the CSD to set strategies in line with the clients mid-long term business and marketing goals
  • Translate those into projects and campaigns
  • Project manage multiple digital projects from conception to execution and monitoring
  • Coordinating across operations, tech and creative teams
  • Setting, forecasting and monitoring campaigns and projects against agreed KPI’s
  • Planning and executing account growth and upsell opportunities
  • Manage and monitor project/campaign costs to client budgets
  • Troubleshooting and solving problems as they arise, working with internal & external stakeholders to address them
  • Providing clients with valuable insights from our own data and external parties data

What we are looking for

You will have demonstrated outstanding ability to manage client relationships in a digital marketing agency/consultancy or digital marketing services business. You understand how to manage client expectations while addressing their most pressing objectives and goals. You are highly motivated and confident in your abilities and comfortable to manage junior and senior client stakeholders.

Operationally, you exhibit excellent skills in project management. You have key competencies and experience in how you manage your time, people and budgets. You know how to prioritize both your daily tasks as well as mid-long term projects and campaigns using tools and frameworks. You are highly capable in presentation tools and techniques. You are comfortable analyzing data and drawing key learnings and insights from it.

You will have a good understanding of all key elements of digital marketing and how the various pieces fit together, you will be a digital generalist but can learn quickly with support and tools provided, if needed.

Commercially, you will have shown an ability to identify commercial gaps that need to be filled for the client and work with internal stakeholders on how we can offer additional services and products to address needs. You will be a results-oriented and comfortable to work to and exceed client revenue goals.

You will be comfortable travelling and working from client locations as and where needed, being perceived as an extension of their internal marketing teams.

You will be comfortable in a start-up/scale-up environment.

Experience required

  • Minimum 3 years progressive experience in a digital marketing services company preferably with a focus on data-driven services and products
  • Demonstrable client management competencies including managing expectations, complex problem solving, conflict management and prioritisation
  • Proven track record in managing multiple projects concurrently, coordinating with multiple teams, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Discipline, time management, self-motivation and resilience
  • Experience in developing and executing successful digital marketing campaigns across various platforms
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance data and metrics and make data-driven decisions
  • Experience in presenting ideas, strategies, and reports to clients and team members

Sales Manager (Audience Data Products)

We leverage this inbox intelligence to deliver data-driven email campaigns, CRM builds and services and audience segmentation and audience targeting for paid media platforms. We do this for over 100+ brands every month, delivering excellent service, results and insights.

As 3rd party cookies become redundant, we see a unique opportunity to expand our product offering. We are now geared to offer our deterministic email data to agencies and brands to use in paid social and programmatic platforms and looking to expand this area of our business considerably.

The Role
As Sales Manager – Audience Data Products (reporting to the CEO), you’ll play a critical role in new business sales activities for audience data products (a new set of products at esbconnect), selling primarily to paid social and programmatic media teams at agencies. Key duties include:

  • Identify and acquire sales opportunities in line with the overall commercial strategy
  • Manage a new business sales pipeline, maintaining and tracking performance in the company’s CRM platform
  • Prospect, evaluate, identify and contact prospects in line with allocated sales patch
  • Meet with and present a compelling sales presentation to prospects at various levels of seniority
  • Develop winning selling strategies and proposals, adjusting sales tactics depending on needs
  • Negotiate and close business with prospects
  • Work closely with operations to provide superior customer service, and grow repeat business
  • Hit and exceed monthly revenue goals
  • Build, maintain and manage relationships with various stakeholders at agencies and brands
  • Capture and translate market feedback into product requirements and collect market data and information to guide our overall strategies
  • Contribute to a team culture focused on authenticity, transparency, client-centricity and active collaboration

What we are looking for

You will have demonstrated outstanding ability in securing net new digital media sales, have a good knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem (with a core knowledge around audience data and targeting in one or more digital channels), and a high-quality network of contacts within, mostly, media & digital marketing agencies.

Commercially, you will have shown a high level of expertise in identifying, progressing and closing key client opportunities. You will have had experience in taking new products to market, speaking to the right people at the account planning, activation and trading levels, and being a results-oriented, hands-on salesperson who excels at bringing in new business.

Operationally, you will be organized, motivated, excellent at pipeline management both in tools and process and highly capable in presentation tools and techniques. You will also have a proven approach to tackling hybrid working schedules that now exist in most agencies, to ensure you can close deals through a combination of digital and real-world engagements.

Experience required

  • Minimum 3 years progressive experience in digital marketing sales, with notable experience in audience data products
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver audience data revenue over and above target
  • In-depth knowledge and contacts within independent and/or holding-company agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to break into new agencies and accounts
  • A plus is a focus on independent agencies, and both paid social and programmatic teams
  • Excellent understanding of client stakeholder dynamics, campaign planning and buying cycles

Key duties include:

  • Identify, filter & acquire sales opportunities in line with the strategies for each product
  • Manage a new business sales pipeline, maintaining and tracking performance in the company’s CRM platform across the two product lines
  • Prospect, evaluate, identify and contact prospects in line with allocated sales patch
  • Meet with and present to prospects at various levels of seniority
  • Develop winning selling strategies and proposals, adjusting sales tactics depending on needs
  • Negotiate and close business with prospects, managing contracting and due-diligence too
  • Work closely with operations to provide superior customer service, and grow repeat business
  • Hit and exceed monthly revenue goals, adjust focus and priorities based on demand from both products
